REGULAR MEETING

LOMETA I.S.D. BOARD OF TRUSTEES

NOVEMBER 15, 2012

 

THE LOMETA I.S.D. BOARD OF TRUSTEES MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2012 AT 6:30 P.M. IN THE LIBRARY. MEMBERS PRESENT WERE BEN LEGGETT, STEVE STONE, JOHN HINES, AND SHAWNA HILL. TOMMY MADDOX, STACY PAULY, AND XAVIER ALANIZ WERE ABSENT. ALSO PRESENT WERE SUPERINTENDENT DAVID RICE, ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT DAVID FISHER, PRINCIPAL ROB MOORE, AND SPECIAL PROGRAMS DIRECTOR JAMIE SMART.

 

A QUORUM WAS ESTABLISHED AND PRESIDENT HINES CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER.

 

THERE WAS NO COMMUNITY INPUT.

 

MOTION BY STEVE STONE SECONDED BY BEN LEGGETT TO APPROVE THE  MINUTES OF OCTOBER 16, 2012. MOTION PASSED 4-0.

 

THE FINANCIAL AUDIT REPORT FOR 2011-12 WAS GIVEN BY PRESTON SINGLETON OF SINGLETON, CLARK AND COMPANY.

 

MOTION BY STEVE STONE SECONDED BY BEN LEGGETT TO ACCEPT THE 2011-12 FINANCIAL AUDIT AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 4-0.

 

MR. FISHER GAVE THE MONTHLY INVESTMENT REPORT.

 

MOTION BY STEVE STONE SECONDED BY BEN LEGGETT TO APPROVE THE LOMETA I.S.D. INVESTMENT POLICY AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 4-0.

 

MOTION BY SHAWNA HILL SECONDED BY JOHN HINES TO APPROVE THE BUDGET AMENDMENTS AS PRESENTED. MOTION PASSED 4-0.

 

MOTION BY SHAWNA HILL SECONDED BY STEVE STONE TO PAY THE MONTHLY BILLS. MOTION PASSED 4-0.

 

MR. MOORE GAVE THE HIGHLY QUALIFIED STAFF REPORT. ALL TEACHERS AND INSTRUCTIONAL AIDES ARE HIGHLY QUALIFIED.

 

THE BOARD DISCUSSED THE LAW CONFERENCE IN MARCH IN CORPUS CHRISTI.

 

MOTION BY JOHN HINES SECONDED BY BEN LEGGETT TO USE THE SEAMLESS SUMMER PROGRAM AS OUR SUMMER CAFETERIA PROGRAM. MOTION PASSED 4-0.

 

MR. MOORE GAVE THE PRINCIPAL AND AFTER SCHOOL REPORT.

 

MR. SMART GAVE THE SPECIAL PROGRAMS REPORT.

 

MR. RICE GAVE THE SUPERINTENDENT’S REPORT.

 

THE BOARD RETIRED TO CLOSED SESSION AT 7:30 P.M.

 

THE BOARD RETURNED TO REGULAR SESSION AT 7:45. P.M.

 

MOTION BY STEVE STONE SECONDED BY BEN LEGGETT TO ADJOURN. MOTION PASSED 4-0.

 

MEETING ADJOURNED AT 7:55 P.M.
